DaVerse Lounge is back in a big way, with our first Spoken Word Poetry, Live Art and Music event of 2019. Daverse Lounge is a whirlwind evening of youth poetry and creative expression. I do live art pieces like the ones below to contribute to and reflect the spirit of expression the show engenders.

THIS IS ME, AND I AM HERE was the theme of October's show. Although there are always some heartbreaking poems delivered (as young people grapple with bullying, familial neglect/abuse, and disappointment on stage), this show was also punctuated by expressions of pride and defiance. The first ever DaVerse Lounge Gallery Opening took place last Saturday, but the incredible collection of 14 YEARS of visual art is still on display in the Umbrella Art Gallery at Life in Deep Ellum until March 22nd (ahem, my birthday).
