I've been up all night laying out comics for my favorite client while you were drooling on your pillow. No hate, I will smash my pillow something awful soon enough (even though I won't get to sleep long). This comic, about a 7 year old (above) who can find whatever is missing, no matter what, is gonna be good... If you happen to know Brandon May or Abram Valdez, tell them I said EVERY TIME I read through their script, I smile at how dope it is! now i gotta do MY justice to it!

in other news, finances at the house are looking pretty ugly right now, but I'm determined to make it blend... if you've been waiting for JUSSST the right time to buy something, NOW is looking pretty good, fam! Classic Material...

People that have known me for a while know that I used to be very religious. At the time, I was listening almost exclusively to Christian Rap/hip hop music. Just like the larger culture, Christian hip hop produces a lot of poop and a few classics. After I got over my religious phase, I brought my love of classic Christian hip hop with me. That brings me to this dude Obadiah One, and his album Let the Truth Be Told, which as far as I'M concerned, is a freaking BANGER! (read my full review over at GhettoManga.com)

another GhostWerks collabo?

peep the first in a series of character designs i'm working on for my friend and fellow GhostWerks crew member Corance. he's been working on a great urban western/martial arts comic, and was good enough to let me help him flesh out some of the characters.
this drawing of assassin, mercenary and single mom Erin Pettit (aka The Demon) was made 100% in photoshop, similar to the comics i've worked on over the summer. i like the way it turned out. if i enjoy the rest of the designs as much as this one, Corance may have a tough time talking me out of drawing the book myself! anyways, hope y'all enjoy the piece.

Amazing...

hey everyone. hope all is going well for you. Here's a drawing of my favorite superhero that i banged out last night. i did a really quick drawing, then fancied it up in photoshop. I know it isn't a perfect drawing, but i like how it turned out. i think i'll put it in my new book, Spontaneous 2009 that's dropping in December. while you're having a good time this weekend, i'll be at home drawing. Hopefully, i'll finish some things up and will be available to take some commissions next week. so if you're lookin' to get a drawing or portrait or something, stay tuned!

i've been keeping busy lately. besides working on the comic Permanent Residents for my client, i'm also writing, illustrating and quarterbacking the latest issue of my comics anthology/hip Hop culture magazine ghettoManga Quarterly, which is available for preorder now. the new issue will have the first installment in the series of illustrated articles Movies That Should Be Comics. the pic you see here is for that first article about Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse spinoff/mock-trailer-turned-actual-upcoming-movie Machette, whose star Danny Trejo was so easy to draw that I was able to knock this out in one sitting.
anyways, sorry i took so long between posts... i'll try to do better next time!

Ballerz will follow the exploits of a basketball team that trades for a ball-player with All-star skills but rap star drama. the book will feature an ensemble cast, and non-stop action on (and off) the court.

i haven't been blogging very much lately. working feverishly to wrap up ghettoManga Quarterly's debut issue, get ready for Playlist, the art show with the mighty ghostWerks crew on August 21st, and prepare for the impending birth of my daughter. at any rate, all three are on the brink, so stay tuned for news about all that as it develops.

new Champion of Children story in the works!

greetings, Family! hope everyone's doing well... i think this is a good time to announce that i'm working on a NEW Champion of Children story! i wrote it a long time ago, but always wanted to collab with other people on it. having given up on that, i finally mustered up enough energy to draw it myself! i'm not sure how long it will be, so we'll see... but i have broken down the first five pages, and i'm feeling good about it!

it will star the Champ, (seen here) with her whole fam, (Big Madd Skillz, Junior Raw, and 2 Raw), and cameos by every major Champ hero and villain! Plus, a special guest that might just earn me a lawsuit! anyways, 'till then, enjoy the fresh pic!
