New Art- "Momma..." by Samax Amen

While you were watching the Lakers take it from the Mavericks on Friday night, I was one of the featured artists at ArtLoveMagic's monthly coffee shop event Art & Coffee, where I did this digital piece live. I drew it on my laptop in photoshop, while it was being simulcast on the bigscreen teevee.

Mad props to the fine folks at Ufilmhouse.com for posting this vid from Underground 2010 on Vimeo. 50+ artists from the mighty ArtLoveMagic collective took over the Gallery and main hall of Southside on Lamar building in downtown Dallas for what amounted to a one day festival of live art, poetry and music.

Aqualad? yeah, really...

I drew a few nice sketches at the Dallas Comicon show this weekend! One girl really surprised me when she requested a piece featuring Aqualad! I figured it wold be cool to draw his curly Atlantean 'fro underwater, so here you go. (Thanks for taking the photo for me, Matt!)

I drew this with a ballpoint pen and watercolor markers.

Show Business...

I attended a GREAT meeting this weekend with my peoples of ArtLoveMagic in preparation for Underground, our massive art show at the Southside on Lamar's Janette Kennedy Gallery in Dallas.  We'll be hanging pieces this Wednesday, and they'll be up for viewing from this Thursday until the big show on January 30th. This Show is gonna be BONKERS, so if you plan to be in Dallas this month, call the gallery at 214-426-1575 for their hours and drop in. if you'll be around on the 30th, you need to get $5 off admission by preordering at ArtLoveMagic.com.
